Variety of ports
A single USB-C cable is all that is needed to provide video and audio reproduction, transfer data quickly and supply power to the connected devices. The 70 W power supply via USB-C is highly practical and can reliably charge small computers or laptops. This creates more space on your desk since you no longer need an additional power supply for your computer.

It couldn't be easier: Most end devices, such as PC, laptop, mouse, keyboard or headphones, can be connected directly to the monitor, thanks to its wide range of signal interfaces and ports. This makes your daily work easier and ensures a tidy desk.
A pleasing sight on any desk
The monitor’s appearance can be the key to creating a pleasant working atmosphere. Whether you are at home or in the office, the monitor’s virtually frameless design and ergonomic functionality allows it to fit naturally into your workplace environment. The housing is available in both an elegant black and in white, with matching white cables.
Incidentally, the EV2485 is an ideal match for daisy-chain multi-screen systems with its sister model, the EV2495. The housing design and stand are identical.
Electrostatic switches are integrated into the front of the EV2485 instead of mechanical buttons. This ensures ease of use while also giving the monitor an extremely elegant look. The speakers and all the controls are also built into the bezel, pointing forward in the direction of the user. They are fully integrated into the monitor’s flat, nearly frameless design to offer an excellent user experience.
Precise, high-contrast, bright and crisp screen
The monitor is capable of all three key elements of excellent image quality: excellent resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, maximum contrast of 1000:1, and stable brightness of up to 350 cd/m². That means you will experience razor-sharp text contours, brilliant graphics, and clear images. Thanks to the high-quality IPS panels with LED backlight, contrasts and colours remain stable from every viewing angle.
An image can only be perfect if the colours are, too. This is why EIZO monitors have a 10-bit look-up table at a minimum, which allows the colour information to be assigned much more precisely than with conventional 8-bit LUTs. The finest colour gradations ensure that gradients are always perfectly displayed, while also offering customised adjustment options. For example, you can adjust the white balance from 4000 K to 10 000 K in 500-K intervals.
Fast, faster, overdrive. The overdrive function accelerates switching time so that the gray-gray change takes only 5 ms on average. You can watch films and rapidly changing images without annoying afterglow.
Working in a relaxed manner
At day, at night, bright, dark: No matter when and how you work, the Auto EcoView function continuously measures changes of the ambient light and optimises the monitor with ideal brightness values automatically by using a sensor. The benefits: Annoying glare is reduced, your eyes will not get tired as quickly. A special two-point control takes into account the brightest and darkest environment over the course of the day with the respectively desired screen brightness. Another advantage: Thanks to the automatic brightness adjustment, you will save up to 50% of your electricity costs in comparison to a monitor that is permanently operated at maximum brightness.
Of course, you can also continue to configure the monitor manually. EcoView Index is used for orientation on how environmentally friendly and economical your settings are.
For the sake of the eyes
To help protect your eyes, EIZO has developed a hybrid technology to control the backlight. This combines the benefits of the otherwise standard PWM (pulse width modulation) and DC (direct current) control. The PWM control uses much higher frequencies than standard PWM methods. The result: a flicker-free viewing experience while maintaining picture quality and colour stability. In addition, compared to pure DC control, you can adjust the brightness to less than 1% of the maximum value in darkly lit rooms. The benefit: Your screen remains free from glare even under these conditions.
The flicker-free and low blue light content of the EIZO FlexScan monitors is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
The EV2485 offers a perfect, non-glare surface. By minimising glare by diffusing the reflected light, the EV2485 effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the monitor, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.
Ergonomic and stable: the adjustable stand focuses on ergonomics. You can rotate, swivel and tilt the monitor stand until you find the most comfortable setting for your back, neck and sitting posture. It features continuous height adjustment and can be lowered almost to the base plate of the stand, enabling you to position the top image line ergonomically right below your eye level.

Features for greater comfort
Pre-set color modes optimise the viewing of images, texts or films. Because it makes a difference whether you are watching a film, editing a picture, surfing the net, or writing texts. At the touch of a button, you set the respective pre-set for brightness, gamma correction and colour temperature. For example, the Paper mode simulates the pleasant contrast of printed paper, which is easy on the eyes when reading and prevents fatigue.
With the Button Guide, you have all functions at a glance. One touch of the control panel is enough, and the function assignment of the buttons is displayed. Your advantage: clarity of operation and a clean, uncluttered design.
In addition to the on-screen menu, you can conveniently control the EV2485 by using the Screen InStyle software on a Windows PC. The configuration options include color reproduction, energy saving options, and ergonomic functions. In multi-screen systems, the settings can be applied synchronously to all connected screens with Screen InStyle.
System administrators can centrally manage and control monitors connected in the network with Screen InStyle installed using the Screen InStyle Server application. This optimises power consumption and simplifies asset management of the monitors.
Company-wide default setup
Workload reduction for administrators: The software allows you to create a default setup for all relevant monitor settings. This setup can be distributed to the connected monitors via the local network which facilitates the roll-out process.
Environmentally and socially conscious production
Save electricity without compromising quality: The EcoView Optimizer reduces the background lighting fully automatically for dark images. This reduces electricity consumption by up to 30%. At the same time, the signal is amplified and the color tone values adjusted. The result: You will enjoy the image quality you are used to but consume less power.
The monitors have an integrated mechanical power switch, which is extremely practical and energy-saving: If you switch off the monitor using the power switch, the device will stop consuming any power at all. Moreover, it consumes a maximum of 0.5 watt in standby mode.
The EV2485 is produced in a socially responsible way. It is free of child labour and forced labour. Suppliers along the supply chain have been carefully selected and they have also committed themselves to produce in a socially responsible way. This applies in particular to conflict minerals. We present a detailed report about our social responsibility annually and voluntarily.
Each EV2485 is manufactured in our own factory, which implements an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. This includes measures to reduce waste, wastewater and emissions, resource and energy consumption, as well as to encourage environmentally conscious behaviour among employees. We publicly report on these measures on an annual basis.
The EV2485 is designed for a long service life that takes into account the entire lifecycle and impact on the environment. It is generally well above the five-year guarantee. Spare parts are available up to five years after the end of production. The monitor’s long service life and the ability to repair it save resources and the climate. When designing the EV2485 we paid attention to reducing resource consumption by using high-quality components and materials and being meticulous in production.
Reducing the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in material production, such as some paints, is a global concern.
Through years of research, EIZO has succeeded in achieving a smooth, nearly homogeneous color and texture in its monitor housings without the use of varnish.
For the packaging of the EV2485, EIZO uses a padding made of moulded pulp cellulose. The material is made from recycled cardboard and paper and has a much lower environmental impact when disposed of than traditional polystyrene or plastic. All cables are stored in a cardboard compartment instead of being individually packed in plastic bags.
The monitor is certified according to important and all-encompassing sustainability standards such as TCO Certified Generation 9, EPEAT and ENERGY STAR®. The EV2485 is a safe investment, when taking into account issues such as ESG (Environmental, social and corporate governance) or SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) from the United Nations and following the necessary guidelines.

Test the properties and parametres of your monitor quickly and easily with software developed in-house at EIZO.
With Screen InStyle, power, colour, brightness and other settings can be easily managed. Screen InStyle Server allows system administrators to manage and control monitors and PCs connected to the network.
EIZO monitors generally have two or more signal inputs. You can easily switch between two or more computers by pressing a button on the front of the monitor. For devices with KVM switch functionality, the USB hub also switches to the respective computer at the same time.
This may be a problem with the graphics card driver. Please install the latest driver for your graphics card and restart the PC with the monitor.
Older graphics cards may not be able to display this resolution. In this case, you will require a new graphics card with the matching output.
Firstly, please check the resolution of the LCD screen. Check the recommended resolution stated for the respective LCD screen. If you have set a lower resolution than recommended, this may result in blurring.
The LCD display is comprised of a fixed number of image elements (pixels), which light up to display the contents of the screen. The image is comprised of horizontal and vertical pixels. LCDs achieve the best image quality if all pixels can be allocated data, i.e. if the resolution configured on the computer corresponds to that of the LCD display.
The color temperature is a benchmark for measuring the white tone and is stated in Kelvin. At high temperatures, the white tone appears slightly blue, while it has a more red tone at low temperatures.
5000 K: Often used in the printing industry.
6500 K: Suitable for displaying photos and video images.
The color tone rendering is relative to the change of the input signal level. This relationship is generally known as the gamma characteristic. In image reproduction, low gamma values result in white images and high gamma values result in high-contrast images.
International standard for an RGB color space. A color space has been defined, which most devices can comply with, to enable color matching between various applications and devices, such as monitors, scanners, and digital cameras. sRGB images, which are detected or issued on "sRBG devices" are limited to the full sRBG color range and no colors outside the sRBG color space. Color allocation, white point, and gamma are permanently defined.
In connection with a USB-compatible computer, the monitor acts as a hub, to which other USB-compatible peripherals can be connected.
The viewing angle relates to the angle, beneath which the contrast is better than 10:1. These are normally values of 160° to 178°. These values do not provide any information about what enormous differences in contrast may result within the viewing angle. The contrasts should not change significantly for users with a perpendicular view and a slightly side-on view. It must not make a difference whether the viewer is looking at the middle of the image or the edge of the image. How much the contrast stability varies with different LCD technologies is best checked using a measurement diagram or by a direct visual comparison. The more stable the contrast in the user's viewing frustum, the better the image rendering.
High Definition Multimedia Interface. Interface to transfer digital audio and video data
Pixels are precalculated using this function and purposefully accelerated by intelligent steering. In this way not only the black-white changes, but even changes of color nuances are shown very rapidly. Image changes in fast video sequences, 3D CAD animations and games therefore do not suffer from unwanted ghosting effects.
This is where the signal values are allocated to the color tone values for the output in the monitor. EIZO monitors are 24, 16, 14, or 10 bit instead of the conventional 8 bit look-up table (LUT) for precise color control. Precision work, performed by a high-performance chip developed in-house at EIZO.
Balanced brightness is crucial for brilliant color reproduction. Traditional LCD monitors need one to two hours to even out their brightness. However, even then, they are still sensitive to temperature deviations. Patented electronics regulate the backlight, depending on the model. They ensure constant brightness, regardless of the operating times and temperature.
EcoView Index appears on the screen at the press of a button. It shows how ecological the screen's current settings are. This makes it visible how energy-efficient and cost-effective the current brightness is.
Backlights with white LEDs have the same brightness as CCFL backlights yet consume half as much energy. That means extremely high energy efficiency and rapidly falling electricity costs. An added benefit: In contrast to fluorescent tubes, LEDs do not contain any toxic mercury, which is harmful to the environment.
This is a digital signal interface for images and sound signals for computer monitors with a high transmission bandwidth and a compact plug design.
Contrast is the ratio of white to black and for monitors is normally stated as a dark room contrast from a controlled laboratory environment. Typical contrasts on printed paper are 6:1 for newspapers, 31:1 for laser printers, 49:1 for photo paper. For example, dark room contrasts cannot be achieved in the office because an extremely deep black cannot be achieved in normal ambient light – even with the screen turned off.

If the replacement of your device is necessary, an equivalent replacement will be ready for you within 1-2 working days. A driver will come to you and deliver the replacement device to the goods receiving department or reception. He will take the defective device directly from there.
Screens have millions of pixels, which each have a surface area of less than a hundredth of a square millimeter. These elements may have defects, which are expressed by them being constantly lit or unlit. Visibility is fundamentally dependent on the surrounding area. For example, lit elements are almost invisible in a bright environment. Each LCD screen is unique in terms of pixel errors.
To give you a clear statement about what frequency of pixel errors EIZO deems tolerable, EIZO screen models are tested according to internationally recognized standards. On average the actual levels are in fact far below the tolerances across all of the devices. LCD modules that do not meet these requirements are not used at EIZO. Depending on the model, EIZO monitors have a zero pixel error guarantee for completely illuminated sub-pixels (partial pixels ISO 9241-307). Valid: six months from the purchase date.

Since the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) entered into force on March 24, 2006, old electrical equipment can no longer be disposed of with the normal waste. It must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and recycled. This also applies to old EIZO devices.
If you are a private end consumer, you should simply take your old monitor to a local collection center. You will not be charged for this. You can find out where your nearest collection center is from your local authority.

No, you do not need a driver. The monitors are identified via the signaling line and then installed as a standard or plug & play monitor.
We cannot make a direct recommendation. The output signal should be digital and should support the maximum resolution of the monitor.
Digital signal encryption system as copy protection for digital contents, for example for videos, music, etc. The transmission of digital contents is protected as the contents are encrypted on the transmitter's side, sent via a DVI output and once again decrypted on the recipient's side. Digital contents may not be reproduced if both the transmitter and recipient device do not support HDCP.
It measures the ambient light and automatically adjusts the brightness of the monitor to ensure that the contrast is as stable as possible. The image brightness is increased in a bright environment and it is reduced in the dark. It is also possible to control the brightness manually.
No special compatibility is required between EIZO monitors and Windows 11. If supported by the graphics card or chip and its driver, all monitors and their resolutions will be correctly recognised and applied.

To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:
IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.
Monitors and computers use a handshake to separately negotiate the power supply. The power supply is therefore protected against overloads and can be connected by the user without having to do anything but plug in the cable. We recommend using the USB-C cable supplied with the monitor since it supports 5A charging currents.
EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.
Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.
A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.
Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.
