The MX194 with preset DICOM® tone value characteristic curve. It guarantees distortion-free grey tone rendering of radiological images. That is ideal for informative clinical reviews of images from digital image distribution.
Image quality
Precise, high-contrast, bright and crisp screen
Featuring a VA panel, the MX194 achieves a high contrast ratio of 2000:1. This is crucial for achieving crisp images with deep black tones and high colour differentiation. The monitor is able to offer excellent image quality thanks to a high resolution of 1.3 Megapixels (colour) and a stable brightness of up to 350 cd/m2. Even the finest details are presented in a differentiated manner, no matter from which viewing angle the monitor is viewed. This is a great advantage when several doctors are looking at the same screen.

Color rendering is controlled by a 13 bit look-up table (LUT), up to 10 bits of which are available in the DisplayPort connection. This produces a resolution with a maximum of 1 billion color tones. The rendering characteristic and fine structures required for diagnostics can therefore be precisely identified.

The monitor shines thanks to its high color purity and uniform illumination. This is down to the Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE), which corrects imbalances automatically, pixel by pixel. Gray and color tones of radiological and other medical images are correctly rendered over the entire display. This is vital for diagnostics.
A sensor for the backlight permanently determines the luminance of the monitor. The benefit: The defined and calibrated values are rendered exactly just seconds after the monitor is turned on and remain constant during the entire period of use. The sensor is invisibly integrated in the monitor.

Efficiency in diagnostics
The monitor has an automatic shut down option for the backlight (backlight saver). This extends the duration of use. Similar to a screen saver, the LEDs turn off when the screen is not being used.
The backlight saver is part of the RadiCS software.
The monitors stand allows for both rotation and tilting as well as being operational in both portrait and landscape formats. The variable height adjustment starts at the very bottom of the desk, which guarantees optimal ergonomics, regardless of whether the user is standing or sitting in front of the screen. Despite its maximum range of movement, the stand is always completely stable.
EIZO measures and adjusts each tone of grey carefully so that the monitors comply with the DICOM® standard when delivered from the factory. The result is a particularly consistent gradation of grey tones, allowing for optimal radiological clinical reviews.
Sustainability
Environmentally and socially conscious production
The MX194 is produced in a socially responsible way. It is free of child labour and forced labour. Suppliers along the supply chain have been carefully selected and they have also committed themselves to produce in a socially responsible way. This applies in particular to conflict minerals. We present a detailed report about our social responsibility annually and voluntarily.
Each MX194 is manufactured in our own factory, which implements an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. This includes measures to reduce waste, wastewater and emissions, resource and energy consumption, as well as to encourage environmentally conscious behaviour among employees. We publicly report on these measures on an annual basis.
The MX194 is designed to have a long service life and normally outlasts the warranty period by some distance. Replacement parts are available many years after production has ceased. The entire lifecycle takes into account the impact on the environment as the longevity of the product and the fact it can be repaired saves resources and protects the environment. When designing the MX194, we took a minimalistic approach to our resources by using high-quality components and materials, as well as a careful production process.
Warranty

Test the properties and parametres of your monitor quickly and easily with software developed in-house at EIZO.
The EIZO software is capable of complete quality management – from calibration through asset management to acceptance and constancy testing.
RadiCS LE quality control software calibrates EIZO RadiForce monitors and manages the calibration data.
EIZO software for network-supported quality management in larger establishments – with remote function for monitors.
EIZO monitors generally have two or more signal inputs. You can easily switch between two or more computers by pressing a button on the front of the monitor. For devices with KVM switch functionality, the USB hub also switches to the respective computer at the same time.
This may be a problem with the graphics card driver. Please install the latest driver for your graphics card and restart the PC with the monitor.
Older graphics cards may not be able to display this resolution. In this case, you will require a new graphics card with the matching output.
Firstly, please check the resolution of the LCD screen. Check the recommended resolution stated for the respective LCD screen. If you have set a lower resolution than recommended, this may result in blurring.
The LCD display is comprised of a fixed number of image elements (pixels), which light up to display the contents of the screen. The image is comprised of horizontal and vertical pixels. LCDs achieve the best image quality if all pixels can be allocated data, i.e. if the resolution configured on the computer corresponds to that of the LCD display.
The color temperature is a benchmark for measuring the white tone and is stated in Kelvin. At high temperatures, the white tone appears slightly blue, while it has a more red tone at low temperatures.
5000 K: Often used in the printing industry.
6500 K: Suitable for displaying photos and video images.
The color tone rendering is relative to the change of the input signal level. This relationship is generally known as the gamma characteristic. In image reproduction, low gamma values result in white images and high gamma values result in high-contrast images.
International standard for an RGB color space. A color space has been defined, which most devices can comply with, to enable color matching between various applications and devices, such as monitors, scanners, and digital cameras. sRGB images, which are detected or issued on "sRBG devices" are limited to the full sRBG color range and no colors outside the sRBG color space. Color allocation, white point, and gamma are permanently defined.
In connection with a USB-compatible computer, the monitor acts as a hub, to which other USB-compatible peripherals can be connected.
The viewing angle relates to the angle, beneath which the contrast is better than 10:1. These are normally values of 160° to 178°. These values do not provide any information about what enormous differences in contrast may result within the viewing angle. The contrasts should not change significantly for users with a perpendicular view and a slightly side-on view. It must not make a difference whether the viewer is looking at the middle of the image or the edge of the image. How much the contrast stability varies with different LCD technologies is best checked using a measurement diagram or by a direct visual comparison. The more stable the contrast in the user's viewing frustum, the better the image rendering.
This is where the signal values are allocated to the color tone values for the output in the monitor. EIZO monitors are 24, 16, 14, or 10 bit instead of the conventional 8 bit look-up table (LUT) for precise color control. Precision work, performed by a high-performance chip developed in-house at EIZO.
EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.
