Nobody likes tangled cables
The CG2700S combines uncompromising precision and convenience with connectivity - thanks to USB-C and LAN connectivity, it integrates into any modern workflow.
Precision and and color accuracy
High-contrast, bright and crisp screen
The monitor has an impressive top resolution (2560 x 1440), a very good contrast ratio of 1600:1 and a brightness of 400 cd/m². For example, you can edit graphics and images down to the pixel. As an added benefit, text contours are clear and precise. The LCD panel with the IPS (Wide Gamut) panel allows for a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Ensuring that hue and contrast remain stable for the viewer.
For saturated colors
To be able to use the entire colour spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with the largest possible colour space. Only then is it possible to visually assess and edit the saturated hues contained in the file. That is why the IPS panel of the ColorEdge CG2700S covers, for example, the wide AdobeRGB photo gamut as well as the CMYK print gamut ISO-Coated V2 to more than 99 %. This means that the full colour spectrum of modern cameras is represented unaltered and without gaps. And a precise simulation of the print result in the softproof view is also guaranteed.
The LUT (look-up-table) on the CG2700S employs internal calculations with 16 bits for an extremely high colour depth and outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. This provides billions of hues for calculating the precise monitor display, effectively preventing display errors caused by the monitor such as banding or clipping, which can result in tonal breaks in gradients or unnecessary colours in greyscale. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or highly saturated areas of the image can be displayed in a differentiated and detailed manner.
Color depth for plastic images
With its high contrast ratio, the CG2700S displays deep blacks, which often look pale or washed out on a typical LCD monitor due to the backlight. This is especially true when viewing the monitor from the side in dimly lit rooms. The CG series is equipped with a retardation film for this purpose, which allows for this depth of blacks even at wide viewing angles.
Perfect rendering across the entire screen
Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured over the entire surface at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness and unnecessary colour are detected and removed. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) guarantees that identical colours always look the same over the entire service life of the monitor, no matter where they are displayed. Only in this way is precise image processing and retouching possible.
The EIZO CG2700S fulfills strict softproof requirements based on the ISO 12646 standard. Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. came to that conclusion in the course of testing the monitor. The CG2700S was therefore awarded the Fogra "FograCert Softproof Monitor" seal of quality. You will therefore be working on a tested, color-proof monitor.
An integrated calibration sensor ensures you achieve maximum colour accuracy. The sensor is perfectly aligned to the monitor, takes environmental influences such as light into account, and correlates the centre of the image with the edge of the image. This ensures an even result over the whole monitor.
The sensor is located in the bezel and is only extended when performing measurements. This means that no external calibration device is necessary, and the colour fidelity of the monitor is optimal at all times.
The CG2700S is equipped with the latest sensor technology, allowing it to be recalibrated on the fly. So you can continue working with applications that are not colour-critical while the monitor calibrates. The sensor only takes up a small amount of space on the screen during calibration and therefore does not interfere. Calibration can also take place completely automatically at definable times, even if the computer is switched off or not connected to the monitor at all.
To ensure gradations, colour, brightness and other characteristics are always accurately displayed even when the ambient temperature changes, the ColorEdge CG2700S is equipped with a temperature sensor. It accurately measures the monitor’s internal temperature, while an AI (artificial intelligence)-assisted correction algorithm* distinguishes between different temperature change patterns and calculates a precise adjustment in real time.
* Patent pending
It takes a traditional monitor a minimum of 30 minutes for the brightness, chromaticity and tone values to stabilise, whereas the ColorEdge CG2700S only needs three minutes. It means that users know they can reliably trust the colours of the monitor within a short time after switching in on.
Ready to use right out of the box
Each monitor ages and changes its display properties. This is why graphics monitors, which require an absolutely constant image display over the entire service life, must be regularly calibrated and adjusted. With the free calibration software ColorNavigator from EIZO, the ColorEdge CG2700S can be adjusted within 90 seconds (measured with a MacBook Pro and EX4), easily and without any losses. This is to ensure that the same image still looks the same on the monitor five years from now.
More information on the EIZO ColorNavigator
For users who want to calibrate several monitors in the company, EIZO offers the ColorNavigator Network tool. This allows for the quality management of many ColorEdge monitors to be carried out centrally. Among other things, an administrator can deliver calibration targets to the users and trigger the automatic calibration of ColorEdge monitors of the CG series. With the help of a secure cloud server offered by EIZO, it is possible to administer this central quality management across numerous locations or even continents.
More information about the ColorNavigator Network
For optimized color reproduction
The CG2700S has a high-quality microchip (ASIC, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit), which EIZO developed especially for the special requirements involved in work demanding high colour accuracy. This microchip is the brain of a ColorEdge as it guarantees the precise, uniform and constant image display that is the hallmark of EIZO.
Video and film production
Features for post-production
The 3D LUT ensures the most precise tonal value allocation and extremely accurate colour tone reproduction, which can be seen, among other things, in the grey wedge. In LCDs, the brightness levels vary from module to module in relation to the image signal and the colour mixing (addition) of red, green and blue. This can only be accurately recorded and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices.
Ex works, EIZO therefore adjusts every monitor in the CG series and its colour and tone curve. This ensures a consistent colour temperature across the entire grey scale. The result: colour reproduction is the same, precise and reliable for every single CG2700S.
The ColorEdge CG2700S supports the two gamma curves for HDR video: the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) curve and the PQ (Perceptual Quantization) curve. Up to the maximum brightness of 400 cd/m², thus the CG2700S ensures a meaningful impression of the processed HDR material, so that a HDR reference monitor like the ColorEdge CG3146 is often only required in the final production step.
Pre-sets for the DCI-P3, BT.709 and BT.2020 colour spaces are precisely calibrated ex works and ensure working with correct gamma values. In addition, colour modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) for displaying HDR content are also pre-set at the factory. The brightness setting for each pre-set can be conveniently adjusted and recalibrated thanks to the integrated calibration sensor. HDR Mode of Windows and MAC OSX is directly supported. This provides an easy way using typical HDR video application displaying the right tone curve at the matching monitor setting.
Ideal for subtitles and critical images: Thanks to the Safe Area Marker, you know which area of the scene is displayed in a different aspect ratio. You can therefore see immediately whether subtitles, texts or important picture elements are in the visible area. You can adjust the marker color, size and aspect ratio so that the marker is clearly visible in every image.
The ColorEdge CG2700S offers Sync Signal functionality, which adjusts monitor settings such as signal range and colour format to the video signal, offering consistent color settings during the entire production process.
The brightness warning can be used to mark areas that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000 cd/m²) when using the PQ mode. These areas are marked optionally in yellow or magenta.
The Gamut warning operates in two modes: Rec. 2020 image content that can’t be displayed in the Rec. 709 gamut is displayed in grayscale. Alternatively, clipping mode is simulated in Rec. 709 to show how Rec. 2020 material would look on HDTV devices.
Films are normally recorded at 24 fps. They therefore appear unnatural with the conventional monitor rendering of 60 Hz. The monitor supports an image frequency of 24 and 60 Hz. This means that you can view and edit your film material as it was taken.
HDMI signals with refresh rates of 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24 Hz are supported. The monitor also features I/P conversion.
Variety of ports
Image signal, USB data transfer as well as power supply with up to 92 W, all this and more can be realised with a single USB-C cable. This makes the ColorEdge CG2700S the central dock of the graphic workflow. Peripheral devices such as a mouse, keyboard or printer can be connected directly to the USB-A ports. Mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can even be charged via the USB-C cable with up to 92 W via the USB-C cable. In this way, a laptop and CG2700S can be turned into a fully-fledged desktop workstation with a quick flick of the wrist.
The CG2700S supports a wide range of video formats via USB-C, HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. This means that the monitor can not only be integrated into PC-based workflows but can also be used with HDMI feeders.
Stable network connection
The monitor has a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection. Laptops and PCs require only one USB cable to be connected to the CG2700S to gain network access via the monitor. This is particularly advantageous for laptops that do not have a LAN connection and allows for fast and stable data transfer, which is required for video conferences, for example. As a network device the monitor has its own MAC address.
Optionally, the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" software for Windows can temporarily assign the MAC address of the connected PC to the monitor. This transparency grants authenticated PCs network access through the monitor.
Two PCs, one control
It's never been easier to operate different PCs with a single mouse and keyboard. With its USB upstream ports, the CG2700S has a built-in KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. The monitor automatically links the mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. This means, for example, that a desktop PC and a laptop or a work and home PC can be operated on the same combination of monitor, mouse and keyboard. This ensures uninterrupted work and a tidy workspace.
Working in a relaxed manner
For the sake of the eyes
The monitor is flicker-free at every brightness setting. This is great for users, as their eyes will not tire as quickly, allowing them to work in front of the screen for longer periods of time without fatigue.
The CG2700S offers a perfect, non-glare surface. By minimising glare by diffusing the reflected light, the CG2700S effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the monitor, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.
Our screens offer continuous height adjustment. Depending on the model, they can even be lowered to the base plate of the stand. This guarantees the best possible ergonomics, regardless of whether the user is sitting or standing in front of the screen. You can also swivel, rotate and tilt the monitor base to the position that is most comfortable for your posture.
The CG2700S can also be rotated into the portrait format, which is a great advantage for tethered shoots of people in the portrait mode, for example.
Protection against reflections and glare
The monitor hood reduces reflection and brightness on the screen and helps protect your eyes. It is easy to attach and reduces the amount of light that hits the screen from above and from the sides.
Environmentally and socially conscious production
The CG2700S is produced in a socially responsible way. It is free of child labour and forced labour. Suppliers along the supply chain have been carefully selected and they have also committed themselves to produce in a socially responsible way. This applies in particular to conflict minerals. We present a detailed report about our social responsibility annually and voluntarily.
Each CG2700S is manufactured in our own factory, which implements an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. This includes measures to reduce waste, wastewater and emissions, resource and energy consumption, as well as to encourage environmentally conscious behaviour among employees. We publicly report on these measures on an annual basis.
The CG2700S is designed for a long service life that takes into account the entire lifecycle and impact on the environment. It is generally well above the five-year guarantee. Spare parts are available up to five years after the end of production. The monitor’s long service life and the ability to repair it save resources and the climate. When designing the CG2700S we paid attention to reducing resource consumption by using high-quality components and materials and being meticulous in production.
Highest investment security
EIZO grants a five-year warranty. This is possible thanks to the highly developed production process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative technology, made from high-end materials.
The CG2700S has a color and brightness guarantee for five years from the date of purchase for 10000 operating hours at a maximum brightness of 120 cd/m² and a color temperature between 5000 and 6500 K.

Quick Color Match simplifies the colour management workflow for home inkjet printing.
EIZO monitors generally have two or more signal inputs. You can easily switch between two or more computers by pressing a button on the front of the monitor. For devices with KVM switch functionality, the USB hub also switches to the respective computer at the same time.
At resolutions greater than 1920 x 1200, you need a DualLink signal and cable, as the bandwidth is higher than 165 MHz.
This may be a problem with the graphics card driver. Please install the latest driver for your graphics card and restart the PC with the monitor.
Older graphics cards may not be able to display this resolution. In this case, you will require a new graphics card with the matching output.
Firstly, please check the resolution of the LCD screen. Check the recommended resolution stated for the respective LCD screen. If you have set a lower resolution than recommended, this may result in blurring.
The LCD display is comprised of a fixed number of image elements (pixels), which light up to display the contents of the screen. The image is comprised of horizontal and vertical pixels. LCDs achieve the best image quality if all pixels can be allocated data, i.e. if the resolution configured on the computer corresponds to that of the LCD display.
The color temperature is a benchmark for measuring the white tone and is stated in Kelvin. At high temperatures, the white tone appears slightly blue, while it has a more red tone at low temperatures.
5000 K: Often used in the printing industry.
6500 K: Suitable for displaying photos and video images.
The color tone rendering is relative to the change of the input signal level. This relationship is generally known as the gamma characteristic. In image reproduction, low gamma values result in white images and high gamma values result in high-contrast images.
International standard for an RGB color space. A color space has been defined, which most devices can comply with, to enable color matching between various applications and devices, such as monitors, scanners, and digital cameras. sRGB images, which are detected or issued on "sRBG devices" are limited to the full sRBG color range and no colors outside the sRBG color space. Color allocation, white point, and gamma are permanently defined.
In connection with a USB-compatible computer, the monitor acts as a hub, to which other USB-compatible peripherals can be connected.
The viewing angle relates to the angle, beneath which the contrast is better than 10:1. These are normally values of 160° to 178°. These values do not provide any information about what enormous differences in contrast may result within the viewing angle. The contrasts should not change significantly for users with a perpendicular view and a slightly side-on view. It must not make a difference whether the viewer is looking at the middle of the image or the edge of the image. How much the contrast stability varies with different LCD technologies is best checked using a measurement diagram or by a direct visual comparison. The more stable the contrast in the user's viewing frustum, the better the image rendering.
High Definition Multimedia Interface. Interface to transfer digital audio and video data
Full High Definition. High-definition image display with 1920 pixels in 1080 lines. Full HD is either transmitted in 1080p (progressive) or 1080i (interlaced).
Pixels are precalculated using this function and purposefully accelerated by intelligent steering. In this way not only the black-white changes, but even changes of color nuances are shown very rapidly. Image changes in fast video sequences, 3D CAD animations and games therefore do not suffer from unwanted ghosting effects.
This is where the signal values are allocated to the color tone values for the output in the monitor. EIZO monitors are 24, 16, 14, or 10 bit instead of the conventional 8 bit look-up table (LUT) for precise color control. Precision work, performed by a high-performance chip developed in-house at EIZO.
Balanced brightness is crucial for brilliant color reproduction. Traditional LCD monitors need one to two hours to even out their brightness. However, even then, they are still sensitive to temperature deviations. Patented electronics regulate the backlight, depending on the model. They ensure constant brightness, regardless of the operating times and temperature.
This is a digital signal interface for images and sound signals for computer monitors with a high transmission bandwidth and a compact plug design.
Contrast is the ratio of white to black and for monitors is normally stated as a dark room contrast from a controlled laboratory environment. Typical contrasts on printed paper are 6:1 for newspapers, 31:1 for laser printers, 49:1 for photo paper. For example, dark room contrasts cannot be achieved in the office because an extremely deep black cannot be achieved in normal ambient light – even with the screen turned off.

Screens have millions of pixels, which each have a surface area of less than a hundredth of a square millimeter. These elements may have defects, which are expressed by them being constantly lit or unlit. Visibility is fundamentally dependent on the surrounding area. For example, lit elements are almost invisible in a bright environment. Each LCD screen is unique in terms of pixel errors.
To give you a clear statement about what frequency of pixel errors EIZO deems tolerable, EIZO screen models are tested according to internationally recognized standards. On average the actual levels are in fact far below the tolerances across all of the devices. LCD modules that do not meet these requirements are not used at EIZO. Depending on the model, EIZO monitors have a zero pixel error guarantee for completely illuminated sub-pixels (partial pixels ISO 9241-307). Valid: six months from the purchase date.

Since the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) entered into force on March 24, 2006, old electrical equipment can no longer be disposed of with the normal waste. It must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and recycled. This also applies to old EIZO devices.
If you are a private end consumer, you should simply take your old monitor to a local collection center. You will not be charged for this. You can find out where your nearest collection center is from your local authority.
If you are a business customer, simply contact us.
No, you do not need a driver. The monitors are identified via the signaling line and then installed as a standard or plug & play monitor.
We cannot make a direct recommendation. The output signal should be digital and should support the maximum resolution of the monitor.
Digital signal encryption system as copy protection for digital contents, for example for videos, music, etc. The transmission of digital contents is protected as the contents are encrypted on the transmitter's side, sent via a DVI output and once again decrypted on the recipient's side. Digital contents may not be reproduced if both the transmitter and recipient device do not support HDCP.
Wide gamut designates a color space that is considerably larger than the visible palette of conventional LCDs. Depending on the model, it covers up to 100% NTSC and 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. The colors of these monitors bring about a realistic image quality that was previously impossible in LCDs.
No special compatibility is required between EIZO monitors and Windows 11. If supported by the graphics card or chip and its driver, all monitors and their resolutions will be correctly recognised and applied.
EIZO software will support Windows 11 in the future as follows:
Windows 11 support
Please refer to the footnote below the table.
Often, people forget to establish the USB connection between the monitor and the PC/Mac. ColorNavigator uses the USB cable to calibrate the monitor. Please check that the USB cable is inserted correctly and is also functioning properly.
Most Web browsers do not support color management. This means that the browsers ignore images’ color profiles. As a result, sRGB images, for example, are displayed in the monitor’s entire gamut (wide gamut). This is why the images are displayed in an oversaturated way. This also applies for image viewing software that doesn’t support color management.
The sRGB mode that is included on all EIZO monitors offsets the monitor colors in the sRGB gamut. This allows the EIZO monitor to correctly display the sRGB images in the browser/viewer by getting the monitor to correct what the browser or image viewing software ignores.
The ColorNavigator software is used to simply and accurately calibrate ColorEdge screens.
The EIZO ColorNavigator software can be used to calibrate and profile ColorEdge-LCD monitor hardware. IMPORTANT: Please do not use an alternative calibration software, which may not be able to use the hardware function of ColorEdge LCD monitors.
To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:
IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.
During the calibration by the user, the desired white point and gamma curve are transferred to the gray scale through a combination of measurements and calculations. This process is typical at EIZO as it saves time and is more precise than the measurements of several tone values with conventional manual measuring devices, which are prone to errors. The accuracy of the factory calibration with sensitive laboratory measuring equipment serves as a secure foundation in this regard.
Homogeneous luminance distribution and good color purity are key to achieving very accurate image rendering. The Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) circuit takes care of this. It automatically corrects non-uniformities in terms of luminance and chrominance for all tone values across the entire image area – pixel by pixel.
When it comes to color accuracy when working, how well a monitor can differentiate between color tones is of fundamental importance. To achieve the maximum color depth and prevent the formation of stripes, banding, and washing, EIZO relies on the ultimate perfection: a 16 bit look-up table (LUT) ensures precise color resolution, meaning that even the finest structures in darker areas of the image are reproduced so that they are absolutely accurate in every detail.
In connection with a frame rate control (FRC) of the LCD modules, CG monitors allow for 10 bit color resolution, depending on the module. Screens can therefore display even the finest tone value gradations using a billion colors. This requires corresponding 10 bit support by the application software and graphics card.
EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.
Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.
A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.
Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is usually suitable for use. For authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend using secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses.
Note: The use of MAC addresses can be incomplete because NICs such as USB LAN adapters, docks or monitors have their own MAC addresses and computers without a LAN port do not have a MAC address of the NIC. In addition, incompatibilities can - not infrequently - occur between hardware from different manufacturers. The use of GUID/UUID is manufacturer-independent.
GUID/UUID authentication for PXE-initiated deployments can be set quite easily in System Center Configuration Manager.
The following chat describes how it works:

Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.
Compatibility Mode ON = Power supply active in idle mode
Compatiblitly Mode OFF = Power supply only when switched on
To start the notebook with the monitor switched on, please activate the function "Power On with AC attach" in its BIOS/UEFI.
Depending on the computer, the function name may be slightly different.
An integrated calibration sensor governs the maximum color accuracy. It positions itself automatically for calibration and then conceals itself in the safety of the casing until the next measurement is taken. Each monitor is exactly coordinated using its sensor. For example, the measurement location is correlated with the middle of the image at the upper edge of the image so that the sensor takes measurements as if it were in the middle of the image. This integrated solution rules out the variability, which may arise when using external measuring devices. Even the influences of ambient light are determined when initiating the sensor and considered during calibration.
Devices with an integrated calibration sensor are able to perform calibration without the help of the user. The computer does not even need to be switched on. When programmed once, the calibration will start at night, during the lunch break, or at other, definable times. It is easy to program using the ColorNavigator or the on-screen menu.
When you enable High Dynamic Range (HDR) in OS Display settings to use with ColorEdge selected SDR color mode, the color appears washed out.
When you disable High Dynamic Range (HDR) in OS Display settings to use with ColorEdge selected HDR color mode, the color appears extremely overexposed / bright.
Please set High Dynamic Range in OS Display settings correctly according to the selected color mode of the monitor.
Please refer to the user's manual for the SDR color mode and HDR color mode for each models.

Settings -> System -> Display -> HDR -> "Use HDR" turn off
macOS: Apple -> System Preferences -> Displays -> Display settings -> "High Dynamic Range" turn off
EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.
